We are honored and thrilled to host the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship on Treaty 8 territory—the traditional and ancestral lands of the Dane-zaa, Nehiyaw, and Dene peoples. This territory also encompasses the Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta. We recognize and pay our respects to the countless generations of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial. Our gratitude extends to the Knowledge Keepers and Elders who continue to guide us with their wisdom. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
